Liberty Brewing
Liberty Brewing has been crafting exceptional beer since 2009, evolving from humble beginnings in a New Plymouth shed to becoming a leading name in New Zealand’s craft beer scene. In January 2023, its Australian taproom opened in Cheltenham, bringing their iconic brews to Australia.
Master Brewer Joseph and Christina Wood founded Liberty Brewing on unrestrained, style-driven beers rich in aroma and flavour. Their love for hops and commitment to quality quickly attracted beer enthusiasts and judges alike. Many awards now sit on the mantle, including the NZ Champion Brewery Trophy in 2019. Today, Liberty is known for its bold, hop-forward IPAs and quintessential New Zealand pilsner. They also offer a world-class barrel-aged imperial stout and a diverse range of beers.
Paul Attwood, a beer distributor, opened Liberty’s taproom in Australia, offering Kiwi hospitality and Liberty’s celebrated brews. The taproom boasts 14 taps, featuring a variety of Liberty beers, showcasing New Zealand’s craft beer culture. Non-beer drinkers can enjoy an impressive range of alternative drinks. Every Friday to Sunday, Banh Mi Girl from Morrabbin provides delicious food. This local favourite Vietnamese restaurant is the perfect pairing to Liberty’s flavoursome beers.
At Liberty’s taproom, guests experience award-winning beers and genuine Kiwi hospitality. The taproom is part of the Bayside Beer Belt and features on the Orange Route Hop On Hop Off Tour! Or, get the crew together for a Private Tour and ensure Liberty is on the itinerary.
