The Mission
We (The Beer Belts Victoria team) are on a mission to drive beer tourism in Victoria and make it the #1 destination in Australia for craft beer and spirits. Changing our name from Bayside Beer Belt to Beer Belts Victoria aligns with this mission and defines our direction.
Prior to 2022, there were no identified beer regions in Victoria, compared to 21 wine regions. That was until the Bayside Beer Belt was created. This was the state’s first formed and mapped beer and spirit region in Melbourne’s SOUTHeast suburbs.
Since then, the Eastside Beer Belt and the Cityside Beer Belt have been created and developed. Now with 3 Beer Belts to explore, the hardest part is deciding which Belt to visit!
We have identified 19 beer regions across the state including many regional areas. With clusters of breweries and distilleries located across Victoria, the plan is to create as many Beer Belts as possible. The next region we would love to explore and create a Beer Belt in is the Mornington Peninsula.
Whilst the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland may currently hold the title of the Craft Beer Capital of Australia, with the highest number of craft breweries (23) per capita, we’re here to shake up the industry…
Victoria will soon be known as Australia’s ‘beercation’ destination for enthusiasts and casual beer drinkers alike.
Exploring the Beer Belts
With creating Beer Belts, we needed to ensure people could explore them! To help locals and visits discover and experience these regions, we also run Brewery & Distillery Tours. We offer both Hop On Hop Off Tours as well as Private Tours and Corporate Events. It’s never been this easy to spend a day discovering and tasting a beer and spirit region. With different package options available, you can select the type of tour that best suits you and your crew.
